seen a few of those thanks for this! actually rented "Wimbledon" a year ago and it held up to memory of Dunst being almost unbearably likeable...

my Dad a coach and teacher on North Shore of Boston in mid 60's organised and participated in

an amateur tournament each summer where locals hosted in their homes women such as Virginia Wade, Billie Jean Moffat (then) Maria Bueno, Margaret Court and so many others whose names and faces not as well known but shining with love for game and angels to a young kid

all at the time on the cusp of getting paid...he didnt do it for political reasons but for fun and Bud Collins the great tennis reporter gave him shout-outs in his year end round-up in Boston Globe (no doubt they had a few laughs and drinks)

later my Dad would have no idea who David Foster Wallace was but he did get the compelling solo drama of competing on a court as the writer did and i suspect a major psychological force in the latter's brilliance

Thanks for the breakdown on the movie as I’ve been curious and based on your synopsis, I’ll go to see it. Also agree with your evaluation of the other tennis movies!
